TR01 – Tomato Analyzer

Bx, pH and color tomato quality control analyzer

The TR01 grinding unit is one of the most important elements of the Maselli SV01 quality control station for the check of the quality of the raw tomatoes delivered at the processing plant. In its maximum configuration, the TR01, after having reduced the tomato to juice, can automatically determine Brix, pH, color and the quantity of lycopene of the sample. The “all in one” solution means that the installation times and costs are reduced to an absolute minimum and it makes transfer and reinstallation in other areas quick and easy: all together, these functions make this a unique system easy to be handled and serviced. The TR01 can be delivered in 2 different configurations:

  • when integrated in the SV01 station, it is directly controlled by the PLC;
  • when delivered as a stand alone unit, it comes with a remote pushbutton panel so that it can be activated an interfaced with the data acquisition system.

    Application: Grinding a tomato sample with relative measurement of the “pH”, “Concentration” values and the “Lycopene/Colour” of the juice obtained in automatic cycles; used in laboratories for “Quality Analysis” on delivery to the tomato processing industry.
    Concentration measurement limits: Measurement limits: 1.3330…1.3478 nD (0…10 Brix)
    Accuracy: max. accuracy ±0.0002 nD (±0.15 Brix)
    Measurement scale: “BRIX” referred to conversion tables nD/Bx ICUMSA (1974)
    pH measurement Measurement limits: 2…14 pH
    Accuracy: ±0.05 pH
    Reading resolution: 0.01/0.1 pH
    Colour/lycopene measurement
    Colour repeatability: X, Y, Z < 0.07
    Lycopene measurement limits: 0…80 mg/100 g
    Lycopene accuracy: higher than ±5% of the given reading
    Maximum accuracy: 0.5 mg/100 g
    Lycopene repeatability: higher than ±0.25 mg/100 g
    Cycle Quantity of grindable tomato: ~4 kg/cycle
    Cycle duration: Grinding 60 s – total 125 s
